Rocco Napoli is a jewelry artist born in 1967 in Valparaíso city, Chile. At the age of thirteen, he started his apprenticeship of design and jewelry making techniques in “Taller 410” Studio, where he was under the tutelage of jewelry artist and ceramist Eliana Quevedo Rivera throughout a period that last 10 years. After getting a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts Education at UPLA University in Valparaíso, he travel to Japan to learn about metal casting techniques at the Craft Department of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music; throughout six years he learned Japanese traditional Manegata moulds, copper alloys and patinas from professor Keinotsuke Totsu and professor Akio Hashimoto.
Back in Chile, Rocco set up his jewelry studio on Cerro Concepción Hill, located within Valparaíso UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. In 2010 he established GALERIA ORFEBRES, a versatile space that includes all in one his own private studio, a contemporary jewelry gallery area to hold solo and group jewelry and related crafts exhibitions and a store showcasing permanently the work of twelve distinguished local jewelry artists and ceramists.
Rocco has shown his jewelry and sculpture works at exhibitions and fairs in Argentina, Chile, Italy, Japan, Netherlands and U.S.A.
